BOOKSTAKEN Refund Policy

Effective Date: March 01, 2026

At Bookstaken, we are committed to delivering consistent, high-quality 1:1 reading mentorship to every child enrolled in our program. We understand that circumstances can change, and this policy is designed to be fair to both families and our mentors.

1. Free Trial Session

Every new student is entitled to one free trial session before any payment is required. The trial session is designed to help parents and students experience our mentorship approach, meet their assigned mentor, and assess fit before committing to a subscription.

  • No payment information is required to book a trial sessions
  • The trial session is available once per student
  • If you choose not to continue after the trial, no charges will be applied

2. Monthly Subscription Fees

Following the free trial, Bookstaken operates on a monthly subscription model. Fees are collected at the beginning of each billing cycle and cover all scheduled mentorship sessions, reading assessments, and progress reports for that month.

3. Refund Eligibility

Refunds are considered under the following conditions:

  • Full refund: A full refund will be issued if you cancel your subscription before your child's first paid session of the billing cycle has taken place.
  • Partial refund: If sessions have begun and you wish to discontinue mid-month, a prorated refund may be issued for sessions not yet conducted, at Bookstaken's discretion.
  • No refund: No refund will be issued for sessions that have been completed or for sessions missed due to the student's absence without 24 hours prior notice.

*Transfer charges will be deducted.

4. Cancellation of Sessions by Bookstaken

If Bookstaken is unable to deliver a scheduled session due to mentor unavailability or technical issues on our end, we will either:

  • Reschedule the session at a mutually convenient time, or
  • Credit the session toward the following month

5. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund or cancellation, please contact us via:

Requests must be submitted within 7 days of the billing date to be considered for that cycle. We aim to process all approved refunds within 7-10 business days.

6. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will not be provided for:

  • Sessions missed by the student without advance notice
  • Dissatisfaction with reading progress where sessions were regularly attended (results vary by individual engagement)
  • Requests made after 7 days of the billing date

7. Changes to This Policy

Bookstaken reserves the right to update this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be communicated via email or WhatsApp at least 14 days in advance.
